T-Mobile facing loos of 40-Million People data through Cyberattack

T-mobile announces that on 20, Aug-2021 that they were attached with cyber theft collecting sensitive customer data including names, birthdays, and social security numbers.

The telecom group announced that it had suffered highly sophisticated cyberattacks on their system that resulted in the loss of personal data of new, former, and even potential customers about 7.8 million current T-Mobile postpaid customers, and also, 40-Million former or prospective customers.

T-Mobile said in a statement, that “We have now been able to confirm that the data stolen from our systems did include some personal information.” Along with that on Poly Network T-Mobile customer's information was being offered for sale on online forms, days after an attack.

The company also added there was no sign found that information related to customer financial data, credit card information, debit card, or other payment information was stolen.

In recent years telecom companies like Virgin Media, Deutsche Telekom, and TalkTalk-all are suffering from data breaches that cause cyber attacks with the loos of millions of customers' sensitive information. The US-based company said that they have taken immediate action to protect all individuals who may be at risk from cyber-attack and also offer free identity protection services and advise customers to change their PIN.

State Authorities starting to put huge penalize companies that are failed to protect customer information held in their servers and companies like Uber, Target, Equifax, British Airways, and Capital One and among those companies that are charged with huge fines over data breaches.
